National Warheads and Energetics Consortium (NWEC)

The Warheads & Energetics Center (WETC) and the National Warheads & Energetics Consortium (NWEC) were created to better utilize the diminishing resources available for research and development of lethality technology that supports the warfighter. In order to focus and leverage the resources of Government/Industry/Academia, a partnership was established through the execution of this Other Transaction, number DAAE300190800. This Other Transaction sets forth the process and procedures that the DOTC, both DOLC and NWEC members, will use to accomplish their partnership. Initially the WETC/NWEC partnership was between U.S. Army agencies and NWEC. This partnership grew to include other Service agencies and the Department of Energy laboratories and became a working model for leveraging and focusing limited resources. Using the WETC/NWEC partnership as a working model, the Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC) was created for participation by all Services, SOCOM, and Defense Agencies on a voluntary basis. The Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics commissioned the DOTC as a Department of
Defense (DoD) Laboratory initiative.

Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC)

The DOTC, through its Government, Industry and Academia components, will serve as a focal point for the advancement of key munitions technologies by leveraging the enterprise’s available resources, facilities, programs and people to maximize return on investment and information sharing.
